Mainly through reading historical fiction. Excalibur by Bernard Cornwell changed my life in many ways. Set me down a path that quickly led to Conn Iggulden and the fantastic Gates of Rome. After that, it was Rome for me! The fantastic works of too many authors to name inspired me to write my own story, I was lucky enough to find a publisher that wanted to share my story with the world.
