I always give two pieces of advice:
1) Write the next book. Sometimes new writers tend to hyper-focus on making one book perfect but in reality your first book won't (generally) be your best book. Write it, work on revising it, and move to the next book if it doesn't get traction.
2) Find your writing community! This is so important! Find people you can "talk writing" with!
