I was born with a passion for horses. I spent the first 25 years of my life absorbing any and all information I could on them, owned my first two ponies, showed a neighbor's horse, and went to work at two Class A hunter/jumper stables in my late teens and 20s. The novel Mystery Horse at Oak Lane Stable came from my life around horses, although fictionalized, of course.
