When my students read The Giver as a class novel, then go on to read Gathering Blue, they always want to know the real connection. It is hard for them to figure it out. Then, again, between Gathering Blue and The Messenger. What would you say to them?

Lois Lowry Look for the boy with the light eyes. Or, n MESSENGER...Jonas and Gabe are both mentioned by name. It shouldn't be hard to spot them!
