Janice asked Cheryl Bolen:

Is it hard for you to come up with ideas for new books?

Cheryl Bolen Excellent question, Jan. In my earlier works (I've done 33 historicals) it wasn't hard at all because my genre, Regency, tends to reuse the same tropes, like impoverished hero or heroine must marry a fortune to save estate, siblings, etc. But after so many books, it's hard to find something I haven't done before, and I strive more than ever now for originality. Finding a fresh new idea is the hardest thing for me. Sometimes it can take months.
