What would happen if a queen were to ever give birth to sons instead of daughters? Or what if she gave birth to only one child, or that child didn't have any powers at all?

Chaos! Anarchy! Seriously though it would probably mean an end to the line of queens. Queens aren't normal people; they are sacred. Magic. They never give birth to sons. They never give birth to anything but triplet (or quad) queens, and only when the Goddess sends them as the end of a reign. Always born on (or very, very near to) December 21st. Sidenote: Queens have no "biological clock." Strong queens can rule from age 16, and not bear triplets until their fifties :)
