Lee
Lee asked Lois Lowry:

That's no possible that the whole community are colourless, right? I mean the melanin, haemoglobin and carotene, which determine the skin colour--rosy cheeks, pale appearence, yellowish tone on the skin..they can't just make these pigments disappear without affecting body functions, right? HOW does colour absent from their lives?

Jessica
Jessica asked Lois Lowry:

I've read The Giver 18 times and I love it more each time I enter into their world. Did you write any intentional Christian symbols in The Giver? I am a Christian, so I see them likely because it is my personal perspective. But I'd like to know if any were included intentionally. Thank you for reading and I hope to hear a response!!

Paul
Paul asked Lois Lowry:

Although depicted as children, the majority of the characters are powerful, complex and unique individuals. What is your source of inspiration for your characters?
