Would this series be appropriate for an 8-10 year old boy? He is an avid reader - is always look for a new author.

Joseph Delaney Yes definitely. The first few books are particularly suited to a younger audience, they get a little more advanced towards the end of the series but a good reader can handle them. My grandson read them when he was that age and wasn't too traumatised !!
