I think I heard you do a reading from a work-in-progress about someone getting fired from the supermarket butchers counter, for abusing the 3D meat-slurry-printer. Did anything come of that? I think the chapter almost worked as a standalone short story.

On permanent hold. (Had structural problems at novel length, and then Brexit happened. It may surface in future as part of my big grimdark post-Brexit British dystopia, if I ever write it.)

So excited to hear "Dead Lies Dreaming" is soon to be published! The Laundry Files books are so much fun. I started reading Lovecraft as a teen (didn't we all?), but get a huge kick out of the government bureaucracy parody in your books. Did you ever work for a government agency?
