Patty Blount Let me clarify your question... if you're asking if someone close to me experience rape and did I react like Ian, the answer is no. When people close to me confide in me something as serious as sexual assault, I believe them. It's not my job to presume innocence until proven guilty. That's for the justice system. It IS my job to provide support to someone who survived sexualized violence and that begins by not judging them, not blaming them.
