Gosh, Karen, I wish I had a muse! Coming up with original and enjoyable stories is really, really tough, especially when writing in a genre which is groaning under the weight of its success. The Regency is a genre where there are a lot of recycled stories, and the more books I do, the more I don't want to redo something I've done before.
If I have a muse at all, it's the inspiration I get from reading a well-written book--generally from a genre in which I DON'T write!
