asked:
Similarities to Ready Player One? I loved 'Ready Player One' by Ernest Cline, but I'm interested in this book also. Is this super similar to Cline's book at all?

Well they're both cyberpunk. They use the concept of a large virtual world accessed through glasses which William Gibson invented in the 80's but Warcross is more about the nature of society and futurism, like traditional cyberpunk. While RPO is more a collection of pop culture nostalgia lists with plot and characters secondary to that.

No this is not a rip of of ready player one, the only similarity it has is that there is a virtual world and that it is important and is the escape from real life for a lot of people.

I read Warcross first and really enjoyed it and then this week I started listening to Ready Player One since it is my husband's favorite book. Warcross is an absolute and total ripoff of Ready Player One! I'm surprised Ernest Cline isn't pitching a fit!

There are similarities to Ready Player One, how could there not be when it's about VRMMOs? But I think that far and away Ready Player One is the better book. Then again, maybe I'm not the best judge of that, since I like having an ending that feels like a proper ending and not one that leaves so many story threads dangling........I'm really sorry if that spoiled something, should I have put the spoiler thingy on?
