Hi Stephanie! Since Caraval has such a unique setting and a lot of cool twists and turns in the plot, I was wondering if you had any tips for aspiring writers on world building or writing cool twists like that?

Thank you for the kind words! I approach world building in a similar way to character building. I start with one small seed, and I let everything grow from there. When I sat down to write Caraval I knew I wanted to create a bright, colorful, and beautiful world that readers would (hopefully) want to spend time in. So even though the world of Caraval is far from safe, I wanted every inch of it laced with lovely and alluring things. :)
