John asked Laurence E. Dahners:

I read Proton Field #1 today and I looked up the author and, sure, wasn't it yourself! I've read several of your books, loved the VAZ Series. But I must memorise your name, few authors I read can enthral, entertain and enlighten me like yourself, without even knowing you were the same author of those works. Enough fluffing, my question is how/where do you get the core scientific ideas and details for your novels?

Laurence E. Dahners Thanks for the kind words. I'm not sure where some of the ideas come from. Lately a lot of readers have been making suggestions and I've used a few. But part of the reason I write is because I have ideas that I like to think about. Then I spend a lot of time on the internet/wikipedia reading about the science of the subject and on Wolfram Alpha doing calculations.
