How d'u figure out what scenes to write/how to write the things you know you wanna write into a scene, as in like what should be happening here? Where should it take place and why etc etc. I've yet to overcome it and its harder than hell for me. Please give me some advice. I try to read your books for inspiration for all of them but I just can't seem to become friends with the scene part. HELP PLEASE.

For me (and it's probably different for everyone) I figure out what needs to happen to move the story forward and then I build a scene around that one thing that needs to happen. Sometimes it's a conversation that needs to take place so I figure out what would naturally need to occur for that conversation not to feel out of place. Sometimes it's an event that needs to occur. And again, it needs to feel natural, not something that comes out of nowhere so I figure out what might lead up to that event. It's definitely something you'll get better at with practice. Sometimes I just write without thinking too much and then end up editing things out later that are unnecessary scenes or events. That way works fine too. It sounds like you're doing the right thing by reading. Reading helps you learn story structure and storytelling. And then as you continue to practice writing, you'll learn what works and what doesn't work for you. Good luck!

Hi Kasie!? I just wanted to say that I just finished Love, Life and The List and I fell in love with it. I believe it is one of your best novels and of course it is one of my favorites. While I was reading, I just hoped that Cooper would just stop being clueless and tell her that he felt the same way, but at the end I got why you waited to do it. I really really love your writing and you are by far my favorite author.
