the ending of the book version of The Giver left the reader uncertain, but the movie was quite definitive. Did you have a voice in how the movie ended? If so, why did you make these changes? If not, how do you feel they change the story?

Lois Lowry The filmmakers wanted a less ambiguous ending. I'm not sure I agree, but there was a lot of discussion, and I can live with their final decision.
