Hi David. I wanted to ask: where did you get the idea for writing The Moon Dwellers Trilogy? and who is your favorite character from it?
David Estes
Hi Sheyla, thanks so much for the question! When I first had the idea for a The Moon Dwellers, I was reading a ton of dystopian novels and kept seeing the same settings described over and over again: Destroyed, impoverished cities aboveground. I wanted to write something that had everything readers love about a good dystopian tale, but set in a fresh environment...underground. My favorite character (though they are all close to my heart), is Adele. She was given a raw deal, sentenced to life in prison for her parents' crimes. She is the ultimate overcomer, having to face challenge after challenge without wavering in her resolve to bring her family back together. Though The Moon Dwellers is a dystopian story, it is a story about family at its core. Thanks again for the question and your support! As a small token of my thanks, I'd love to send you a pair of signed bookmarks from my newest series, Fatemarked! If you're interested, send me a direct message with your mailing name and address and I'll get them in the mail :) Happy reading!

Firstly, LOVE your work. The Country Saga is by far the most memorable series you have published and was really amazed about how two series linked together. Earth Dwellers tore me apart at times. What authors do you get your inspiration from when starting to write a new series?

No question. Just THRILLED to hear that there will be a THIRD series in the Fatemarked/Kingfall world! Will it also be five big books? I **adore** your characters and stories. I'm extremely excited about this third series! I will, of course, also be reading all of your OTHER series - but this particular bit of news has me OVER THE MOON!!! ♡♡♡
