How do you get inspired to write?

Lauri Fairbanks Inspiration comes from all sorts of places for me. Near Miss (which is still a work in progress), for example, came about after a conversation with a friend about the time when she was a flight attendant. While the plot of the story has nothing to do with what my friend had to say, the idea came about and I was off and running.

The idea for Jayla's Truth was a bit different in I thought of the Jayla character and the scenes around her flooded in. I think the concept of an unrequited crush is pretty common and it was easy to remember a time when I felt like she did.
