I loved the Giver and as a 6th grade teacher recommend it every time one of my students says they can't find a book. They always end up loving it and reading the rest if the series. I am wondering why did you wait so long to write Son?

Lois Lowry I was writing many other books during that time, and I think my subconscious was at work on the stories that eventually emerged as the companion books to THE GIVER, including SON.
