I think the mother's general a…moreAlthough there was some element of "They had to send him" the story made me feel like he was sent as a matter of pride. I think the mother's general attitude and what she said about her neighbor (the "Jewess") came off like she was actively involved in the Nazi party somehow.

But maybe I read too much into that. (less)
