If you were given the choice between living in The Giver's world and Kira's hometown, which would you choose and why? Have you ever imagined endings for characters that we don't get to meet again (such as Jo or Jamison)?

Lois Lowry I say goodbye to characters when I finish a book, usually, and don't worry about their futures. Sometimes, though, as with Gabriel, they continue to stay with me and emerge in another book.
