annika burman asked Richard Bach:

There is something incredibly soulful about Jonathon Livingston Seagull. In his human form, I picture him running through the Hawaiian beaches, completely free. After writing Jonathon Livingston Seagull, what did you learn from Jonathon's character? Do you have personal revelations as you write?

Richard Bach I learned simply not to care about the concerns of others. I'll consider them, but if they're from some different world ("Here's the type of clothes you should be wearing"), I'll let them discover that it's their problem to solve.

It is not up to them to solve my tests ("How can I fly higher than ever I have flown before?"), That's my problem to solve, not theirs.
