Goodreads asked C.W. Gortner:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

C.W. Gortner I don't usually get writer's block; I get writer's panic. This is basically when you suddenly realize you're thigh-deep into a manuscript and it all feels terrible; you doubt every word on the page. What I do is step away for a bit and do something else. I bike, do yoga, read, watch a movie. I have found that like good tea or wine, a book-in-progress sometimes needs to steep and catch its flavor. As the writer, I overindulge in the process and need to cleanse my palate.
