Goodreads asked R.D. Cole:

How do you get inspired to write?

R.D. Cole A year ago I was in a accident a semester from graduating nursing school and I suffered brain trauma. My personality changed. I no longer wanted to be a nurse. I can't stand the sight of blood or high stress situations that comes with it. Plus my memory was and is spotty. But I had an urge to write. To take some of the roughest parts of my past and place them into a fictional setting. It helped me heal on a certain level. I still have issues with my memory and don't remember much of the day I had my accident. I get left and right confused and small normal words are hard to remember. It can be very frustrating. Plus I now read slower than I used to because i see things backwards and have to redo them several times. I've developed a stutter because my mouth and brain can't seem to get on the same track. But the inspiration and ideas I've developed have made all the negative wonderful. <3
