Jane I believe this part of the story takes place when she is under anesthesia - like how people have dreams, often wild dreams, while in surgery and durin…moreI believe this part of the story takes place when she is under anesthesia - like how people have dreams, often wild dreams, while in surgery and during the recovery period. It's the way of explaining her friendship with the "real" Tennessee and her relationship with Kenya. Thus, the irony is that the boys and Kenya are not related after all. But she becomes the sister they never had, and rightful owner of the "statue". (less)
