Sarah I suppose it's one of those books (like "The Diary of a Young Girl" by Anne Frank) that transcends Goodreads' scale of "I did not like it" through to …moreI suppose it's one of those books (like "The Diary of a Young Girl" by Anne Frank) that transcends Goodreads' scale of "I did not like it" through to "it was amazing". Some books might not be a pleasant experience to read, yet we can appreciate the mastery of the author and/or the circumstances in which the book was written and/or the influence it has had on our collective understanding of the human condition.(less)
