How did you make the leap from teacher to writer? Also, thanks so much for answering questions on GoodReads! My students appreciate seeing authors answering questions from readers!

I've been writing all my life, and as a teacher, I often wrote for my class. I wrote limericks using their names, stories about explorers to use in history class, and lots of creative writing which I shared with them. I first had a book published in 2010, and I spent a few years doing both jobs -- a published author and a teacher. In 2014, after discussing it with my husband, I decided to leave teaching and write full time. This enables me to attend conferences and book festivals and make school visits as an author -- something I couldn't do when I was a teacher myself. When I was a kid, I only ever wanted to be two things, a teacher or an author. I feel very lucky that I have had the opportunity to be both!

Hi Dianne I am a Mega "The Eight day" fan. I know its like 5 years later but please please please continue this book series all your fans are still dying for another book so please, please, please, PLEASSSSEEE keep writing The Eight day . Will you please PLEASE write another book???

What’s going to happen to Riley with his plan to stop aging 7 times faster than Evangeline? I loved the series so much and I loved everything about it. These books are by far the best books I have ever read and it make me me so sad to find out the series was cut short. I wish there was something we could do about it since many other readers in the future are going to find this series and feel the same way that I do.
