Dan Greenfield The Prince does not include the book the Mercenary. The first 55 pages of the Mercenary (in my paperback version) is included in the Prince, but the rest of the book is not. The Mercenary is set primarily on the planet of Hadley. The books in the Prince are set on Arrarat, Tanith, New Washington, and Sparta. Make sure you check out the Mercenary - it is my favorite book of the series.

Brad Sweet This volume is the complete saga of Falkenberg's Legion, and a keystone of Pournelle's CoDominium future history series.

The Prince includes previously published material from these books:
- Falkenberg's Legion
- Prince of Mercenaries
- Go Tell the Spartans
- Prince of Sparta

This includes the material originally published separately as West of Honor, but does not include any of Pournelle's stories about the Moties (The Mote in God's Eye and The Gripping Hand).
