Goodreads asked B.L. Brunnemer:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

B.L. Brunnemer I usually get writer's block when I've made my characters do something they wouldn't do or say. It stops me dead in my tracks. So, I go back over the last few scenes I've written. That's usually my issue.
Otherwise, it's because I've started writing without a good feel for the characters. If they don't have their own voices, I'm sunk in the water.
Oh, and an outline helps. If I don't know where to go from where I am I can just look at it and say, "Oh yeah. They're supposed to be doing this."
