This is YA appropriate. There's some violence, but I don't remember any strong language or explicit sexual content.

There are few characters that fall in the YA category. But there are other characters too who are just as important and are older than their YA counterparts. But the few characters that are young, aren't some sidekicks. They have a role to play and quite an important one at that. I don't think you'll be displeased even if you are just on the lookout for YA novels.
