I've read so many of your stories- I feel I practically live in your dystopian worlds! I just made a pre-order for Hell Divers III: Deliverance. My question is: What inspires these amazing world and creatures?

Nicholas Sansbury Smith Thanks so much! Glad you're enjoying my work. The inspiration for the creatures come from several places. Books, movies, video games, and my nightmares. The Sirens are pretty much the most terrifying thing I could think of, and the Variants are a close second. Thanks for reading!

Hi Nicholas, I have just had a book recommendation from Amazon to pre order 'Extinction Aftermath' due out in October 2016! However, I have looked on your web site and on the goodreads information but this new book is not mentioned anywhere? Hi Nick, Just pre-ordered my copy of Aftermath and have started reading Hell Divers and I have to say "Wow!", what a page turner. However, as I am reading it I can't help but be drawn to similarities between it and your Extinction series! I mean the ruined cities, the creatures that sound very much like Variants, could this be the future world if Reed Beckham hadn't succeeded in saving us?!?! Thanks Chris
