Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Richard Roux Honestly, I was inspired while walking on my family's property in the Greenhorn Mountains in Kern County, California. Part of the property has a trail or road that was used to haul people and supplies from the Central Valley to the Kern River gold fields. I started thinking about that road and the people, how it was connected to the California Gold Rush, and how it led to the development of Kern County. Those ideas bounced around inside my head for half a year until I dedicated the time to write the book.
