The only reason there is even an issue is because that is what Eve feels and readers identify so strongly with Eve. But if you take Eve's feelings out of the equation, DeWinter's own actions in the text clearly show that she is a ok character. Eve is just uncomfortable with new people. And even more so with DeWinter because Eve is protective of Morris. Which, btw, is understandable but Eve's over involvement in who he is spending time with is just a little extra.(less)
