Goodreads asked Craig Owens:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Craig Owens There were many incidents that eventually led to my coming up with the Haunted by History book concept.

1. I had spent part of my youth playing at the historic Waverly Mansion in South Point, Mississippi. Robert and Donna Snow, who owned the house at the time, taught me to love historic places and to not be afraid of ghosts.

2. I grew up with a tremendous love for Old Hollywood and wished I had been a part of it.

3. In 1999, I had a paranormal experience on Sound Stage 4 at Warner Bros. Studio. Because few people at work believed that I had encountered a female ghost (after all, it had occurred on Halloween night), I decided that I would document any paranormal encounters in the future, should such occurrences happen again.

4. In 2009, while conducting a vintage photo shoot at the Mission Inn in Riverside, I not only heard unexplained sounds but I had also seen my first ghost in the form of a shadow figure (which I did not believe in at the time). Fortunately, I was able to document part of the paranormal activity.

After having another paranormal experience during another vintage photo shoot at the Pierpont Inn in Ventura, CA, I knew I had a book inside me. So I combined historic research, Old Hollywood style photography, and paranormal investigations into one project. To my happiness, all of the pieces worked well together to create a truly unique reading experience.
