How do and when do you decide the titles for your books?

Patricia Sands Hello Linda, I apologize for taking so long to respond. I didn't realize these questions were sitting here. That's a good question. I decide on the title after I've written the story. In fact, I was really struggling with settling on the right title for my most recent novel, Drawing Lessons. My husband actually came up with it! I sent four suggestions to my editor at Lake Union Publishing and she presented them to the marketing team. They all loved my husband's! Now he says I owe him royalties! But I think it's a good title for the story too. Cheers!
