Dear Charlie, what an extraordinary series the Paper Magician trilogy is! What a delight to read! Anne of Green Gables meets Daddy Longlegs, meets Howl's Moving Castle. Thrilling stuff! One question about Paper Magician, please: Ceony has a flashback, "...she remembered the car crash, smelled burning onion as Mrs. Appleton had screamed at her after spilling that wine." I'm currently on the second book of your Paper Magician series and I find that I'm enjoying the books immensely. Something I love about this series is the attention that you as a writer give to detail. I've been thinking a lot lately about Emery's fondness for A Tale of Two Cities. As a lover of the classic story from Dickens, I would love to know: What inspired you to choose that book as one of Emery's favorites?
