I've seen that you wrote several historical novels. Can you write historical novel set in medieval times or Sengoku Period?

I've been studying American history from 1760 - 1815 for more than thirty years. Even with that background, each new historical novel takes me about four years of research and writing. To write about a different country, culture, and time would take another lifetime of research, so sadly, I won't be writing about those periods.

Follow-up to my question about Speak being in verse: It is listed as free verse. Is it unintentionally labeled as such? I'm deeply sorry if I confused your work as verse if it was not meant to be taken as that format. I have a small cabinet where I keep my favorite books of all time and Speak is there. I found a hardcover copy that replaced my very loved paperback a few years ago.
