Kristen Maxwell asked Miranda Silver:

When you started writing The Boys Next Door, did you know how much Diana was going to grow and change? Did she ever surprise you?

Miranda Silver Great question! I had no idea how much Diana would grow and change. When I started the story, all I had in mind was a hot education for a studious girl, who discovers her wild side at the hands of her more experienced neighbors. I did know early on that Di would conquer her shyness through her experiences, or at least begin to, but she constantly surprised me with her determination to prove herself. She ended up being much more competitive and fierce than I expected, even as she became more willing to show her vulnerability.

I also didn't anticipate the depth of feeling Diana shows when the romance emerges and love becomes the ultimate risk. The sequel will explore the riskiness and safety of love more fully -- both romantic love and brotherly love.
