Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Andrew Daley For Resort, I returned from my first-ever beach vacation wondering about the sort of masks people wear while on holiday. Who are these people we meet and spend a few fun days with? I'd been wanting to write about actors, and then got the idea of working a crime angle into the story. I wrote three drafts to get to know Jill and Danny before visiting Acapulco on a research expedition. And then the novel really opened up for me.
