How do you get inspired to write?

Joan Carol Lieberman Writing in my childhood diary became a life-long habit. It was more comforting than prayer because there was no right or wrong way to put my feelings on paper. As a consultant, I spent four decades writing speeches for professionals who were afraid of losing power by expressing their true feelings to their subordinates. Whenever I was able to persuade them to speak their minds, they saw their power increase. Helping them capture their feelings in words, in order to shrink the distance between them and their audience, was a great source of satisfaction.
