There's nothing in this book that an older teenager is too innocent to be exposed to. Your teenager swears. Your teenager knows about sex (or has had sex themselves). Unless your teenager is incredibly morally stunted, they're definitely mature enough to understand that Amy and Nick are awful people and that the relationships portrayed in this book aren't standards to be emulated.
