Goodreads
Goodreads asked Nicola Griffith:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Nicola Griffith Writing, that fall-own-the-hole moment, that go-to-another-time-and-place thing, the sense of flow. I love it.

I also love talking to readers, especially live and in person.

Carolyn McBride
Carolyn McBride asked Nicola Griffith:

What period of history do you think the most interesting?

jo
jo asked Nicola Griffith:

genre fiction seems to be the perfect medium to explore hard themes of identity, our relation to the world, our relation to each other. do you agree? if you do, could you tell us more about your feelings about genre fiction? (i would not consider historical fiction genre fiction, honestly, so i wasn't thinking about Hild, but maybe you do!)

Kim Craig
Kim Craig asked Nicola Griffith:

I'm about halfway through HILD, and am loving it. Thank you for writing this book! I noticed that HILA was shelved in adult fiction in my local library, which seems right to me. I wonder, though, did anyone (publisher, agent, etc.) want to promote this book as YA, due to the age of the protagonist?
