I am 17 and I'm in love with this book. It is simple but fun read and any girl looking for inspiring role-models can appreciate it. It also provides some interesting topics to look deeper into. I think this is a great present for kid any age,

I'm almost 50 and I got this for my daughter (then 10). She liked it a lot but I did too. There are many interesting women who I knew nothing about - not even their name.
The stories are short just like other bedtime stories. They are full of wonderful facts which I believe anyone, young or old, girl or boy, should learn about. They don't teach this stuff in school; they're too busy trying to teach STEM and how to take tests.

I found one case of the history being oversimplified to the point of inaccuracy, and I suspect there are others. For the reason, I would not recommend it for a 13-14 year old. I think a book aimed at that age group rather than younger kids would be better.

I'm reading this book to my 8.5month old daughter. I know she doesn't understand but the act of reading to a child is the best gift we can give our children.
