Harry Bingham Oh, that's easy. 221B Baker street, in the last days of Victorian England. I'd arrive on a misty night - a proper pea-souper - and come by hansom cab. I'd rap at the door, wait impatiently, cast my silk hat onto a chair . . . and wonder why a certain, lean detective was gazing so intently at the specks of mud on my shoe.
