What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out writing books?

Lisa Renee Jones First off, if it's your true passion - do NOT give up on it. It's a hard to write books at first plus the added stress of the market and competition, but don't let that tear you down. Also, make author friends and take their advice. Join author groups and learn from each others fails and triumphs. And lastly, have fun with it! It's not always roses and sunshine to write, sometimes it's a real bear, but find your niche and write what you love. Of course it's important to know the market you're in and what your audience is buying, but it's also extremely important to put your own personal flair in your books to make them stand out among the masses :)
