Eva Pasco Since one of my all-time favorite novels is 'Wuthering Heights,' I would travel to the moorland farmhouse and try my best to change the outcome of the story by thwarting Heathcliff's departure and filling him in on what he didn't overhear Catherine say. ( Heathcliff overhears Catherine tell Nelly it would "degrade" her to marry him--but not how much she loves him--and he runs away and disappears without a trace. Distraught over Heathcliff's departure, Catherine makes herself ill.
