I've always been fascinated by missing persons' cases, especially folks who simply disappear into the ether! I also love exploring close mother-daughter relationships.
The related story in the novel, MISSING MOM, which chronicles a young woman's escape from an abusive marriage, was inspired in part by the experiences of a high school friend with a very controlling boyfriend whom she married. In retrospect, we didn't know enough to know that his behavior was a warning sign of potential abuse, which sadly is what it became.
