How did this book end? I'm about to start the second and I can't remember. It doesn't seem like the sequel has anything to do with Peter.

Charles He somehow manages to pull 3 hand grenades off the bad guy's vest and blow up the entire gang saving his girlfriend and her family. The army choppers come and take them away and he's being interviewed and seems to fall asleep.
