Lily asked:

Is it worthy this book ? Or the magic of Stieg Larsson gone way forever?

Robert Rouhier I would have to answer for myself. Is David Lagercrantz as decent a writer as Stieg Larsson?, i would have to answer yes But, he has a slightly different way of writing, so i have accepted that he is a good writer but slightly different then Stieg. As long as he keeps the story alive and interesting i will keep reading. So enjoy the characters in this story line.
Anders Ronnau The magic of Stieg Larsson is gone, but the magic of Lisbeth Salander is as wonderful as ever. Go for it! ;)
Jennie I read the last book and it was nowhere near Stieg's level of writing. In some ways by continuing this story and without consent of Stieg's life partner, the books don't feel as exciting.
Charles Lagercrantz is not Larsson. Larsson's plots tended to deal with social injustice in Sweden's socialist society. When he used technology, it was Deus ex machina all over again. Lagercrantz has taken series deeply into the techno-thriller genre with a healthy dose of techno-infotainment. Meanwhile, he has spent a lot of words renovating the Millennium series for the second decade of the new millennium. Frankly, I did not appreicate the effort.
Tony da Napoli I believe so. but I read solely for enjoyment. I do not read for social commentary or philosophy nor political innuendo. That said, I have enjoyed these two works. Not Larsson, but from my point of view I think he is carrying Salender forward quite well. The alternative is NO Salender and I would hate to lose this character so soon. If one cannot abide David's style one always has that alternative.
Katie I would say its different, but definitely still very good. Its no Stieg Larsson, but as we cannot have him writing the the books, I would still say its very good and I'm glad its continuing to be written.
Andrea I really enjoyed this book. It's my understanding that author Larsson had outlines for 10 books and that Lagercrantz has followed those outlines. For me, it's been a seamless transition from author to author, and perhaps because of the outlines.
Mark Buell I absolutely hate where Lagercrantz has taken Lisbeth Salander. Someone described his caracture of Lisbeth as "Wonder Woman". That's perfect, because Lagerkrantz is a Clive Cussler here, as opposed to Larson's Tony Hillerman - one draws outsize stereotypes that would do well in a superhero comic - the other drew characters that could have been real. Personally, I don't understand how anyone can read Lagercrantz and feel like he's done a decent job on this. But, hey, different strokes, you know.
Richard Evans I've appreciated the depth Lagercrantz added to Salender's world. I thought in the trilogy all possibilities had been exhausted (why I'm not a writer). His style is different (maybe more of a traditional mystery element?) but its main characters are as intriguing as ever.
Belinda Ritchie Definitely, The general reviews of Lagercrantz seem to say he is a more professional writer. I mean there was room for more from Stieg, sadly he passed away just before the original 3 books were published leaving us to wander what next for Lisbeth... Who else but Lagercrantz a crime writer could take that story-line and complete the Millennium series far enough in-so-much that we are not left with unanswered scenarios. The Girl in the spiders web was a bit stodgy to start with I get it, it had to set the scene, but as soon as they introduced Lisbeth there was no putting this book down. Lily go for it I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Woogie! Kristin! I ordered it anyway, but I agree that Lagercrantz's style is different. I'm curious on how long he will keep this up, though.
