I am a struggling author stuck in the middle of my first novel. Whenever I write anything, I just feel like writing it again. I can speak it out loud, but when it comes to penning it down on paper, I manage to find at least one mistake every time. Any advice on what can help me? I have been stuck on it for 2 years now, and I really need help. Also, you have been my fav author since read GONE & I can read it all day!

It's not about mistakes. Mistakes are irrelevant. The question is whether you can tell a story that has a beginning, a middle and an end. I don't know if you can or not, that's for you to decide. Before everything else is story. Do you have story? If yes, you can advance to the next step: figuring out how to put it down on the page.

I’m currently rereading the Gone series before I read MONSTER (and I’m falling in love with the series all over again!) but I’m 3/4 of the way through Hunger and I just had a thought - how come nobody has any kind of fruit tree etc in their gardens? Because the only grown vegetables talked about are in the actual fields outside of Perdido. Is it to do with climate or just an unlucky fact that nobody has them?
